Ingredients

The main ingredients in the mix are: 

  • Enriched bleached malted wheat flour
  • Dehydrated powdered codfish
  • Granulated garlic
  • Monosodium glutamate
  • Dehydrated parsley
  • Salt (present in codfish and possibly added) 

The product contains allergens such as wheat, barley, and fish (cod). 

Preparation Instructions

To prepare the codfish fritters using the mix, you simply need to add water and fry the batter: 

  • Mix: Empty the contents of the package into a bowl and add 1 cup (8 ounces) of water. Stir the mixture until all lumps disappear.
  • Rest: Let the mixture stand for a few minutes to allow the batter to set.
  • Fry: Heat oil in a pan to medium heat (approximately 350°F). Take a spoonful of the batter mixture and carefully drop it into the hot oil. Fry until the fritters are golden brown and crispy. 

Once fried, the bacalaitos should be drained on paper towels and served hot
